What’s on at
Dennings Down

Dennings Down Farm is not only a working organic farm, but also a place where people gather — to learn, to share knowledge, to celebrate the seasons and to spend time outdoors.

Set within 190 acres of pasture, woodland and open skies in the Blackdown Hills, the farm offers a peaceful and practical setting for small events, workshops and community gatherings. Whether you are planning something educational, creative or wellbeing-focused, we’re happy to explore how the space might work for you.

What’s on at Dennings Down

Alongside private hire, we host or run our own small programme of seasonal events throughout the year. From practical workshops to guided walks, interesting talks and community days. You can find upcoming dates and details in our events calendar below, or sign up to our newsletter to hear what’s happening on the farm each month.

  • School visit

"Our visit to Dennings Down brought our science topic to life in a way the classroom couldn’t. The session was thoughtfully planned around what we were already teaching, and every child found something to engage with — whether that was pond dipping, meeting the sheep, or exploring the soil. The pre-visit made everything easy to organise, and we left inspired."

  • Open Farm Sunday

"We came along to Open Farm Sunday not really knowing what to expect, and ended up staying for hours. The children loved meeting the animals and asked endless questions. We chatted with the local groups and were excited to know that there are so many people doing their best for nature. It’s rare to find a place that is both working hard and welcoming. Can’t wait until next year.”

  • Wonderful event space

“I have run my craft workshops at the Treehouse a few times now and couldn’t have asked for a better setting. The space is beautifully simple and practical, and the surrounding woodland gives the day a real sense of calm. The team were supportive without being intrusive — it felt like a genuine partnership and I hope to come back for years to come."

  • We love outdoor learning

"My 7 year old finds school overwhelming at times, but at the farm something shifted. Being given real responsibility – feeding animals, helping with practical jobs – gave him calm in a way I hadn’t seen before. The environment feels steady and patient, and that makes such a difference. Thank you."
